Jeremy Lopez scores winner for Magpies

Jeremy Lopez’s second-half strike saw Brunos Magpies edge past Glacis United 1-0 yesterday.

Nicholas Castle, Kivan Castle and Job Arjan Derksen were the Glacis changes from the side which beat College with Nicholas’ brother James dropping to the bench.

Johnny Parrado made four changes with Dan Bent and Jeremy Lopez starting after being benched in their win over Manchester 62 while Jean Carlos Garcia and Alan Parker returned from injury.

Rubo and Tyson Ruiz had chances for Magpies early on but weren’t able to test Glacis keeper Marcos Zappacosta. Glacis had shouts for a penalty in the 40th minute which were turned down and both teams went into the break at 0-0.

Wessel Witbreuk missed two early chances for Glacis which his side would later rue when Magpies took the lead in the 58th minute through Jeremy Lopez.

Important saves from Alan Martin and a disciplined Magpies defence kept out Glacis and secured their side the three points.
