Walker grabs hat-trick as Europa breeze past Europa Point

A hat-trick from Liam Walker helped along Europa as they comfortably put aside Europa Point 9-0 earlier today.

After beating Magpies 3-1 last weekend, this proved to be a much easier encounter for Rafael Escobar’s side, who handed a start to Gib U21 keeper Christian Lopez in goal, while highly-rated Ghanaian Poku also started for his side. After a 3-0 loss last week to Lynx, Europa Point started Swedish keeper San Mustafa in between the sticks.

It took Europa 31 minutes to break through Europa Point, as Liam Walker’s free kick left Mustafa with no chance. From there though, it was purely one-way traffic, and goals from Adrian Gallardo, Juampe and a Walker penalty sent the ‘Greens’, playing in pink this month to raise awareness for breast cancer, 4-0 up at the break.

There was no respite for Europa Point in the second half either, with Europa adamant in racking up the goals. Juampe notched his second after 54 minutes, before substitute Blas Alvarez headed in from Walker’s cross. Walker would get his hat-trick on the 73rd minute, followed by another assist for Alejandro Carrascal’s goal – and much like the win vs Magpies, 17-year-old local Dylan Borge was on hand to wrap up the scoring in injury time – this time to make it 9-0 in an easy win.
