Europa and Gibraltar goalkeeper Dayle Coleing is believed to be attracting interest from teams in Northern Ireland, Spain’s Segunda B Division and potentially elsewhere outside of Gibraltar.

Coleing, who has firmly established himself for club and country in the last 12 months, is believed to be very interested in a potential move abroad, following in the footsteps of players such as Jaylan Hankins, and his former Europa teammate Tjay De Barr who both made the move last summer out of Gib.
The 23-year-old, who has represented Gibraltar on four occasions, has caught the eye outside of the Rock, having in recent months signed a glove deal with AB1GK, the goalkeeping brand of AC Milan goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, and appears to have a very promising future ahead of him.
Europa are understood to not want to sell their first choice goalkeeper though, especially with the expected introduction of five Home Grown Players to the league in this upcoming season.
Should they let Coleing leave, Europa would, at the time of writing, only have five “first team” home-grown players, and would have to either dip into the market or place their faith further in their Under 23 setup, which it is believed they will be doing this season regardless of what happens with Coleing.
A move to Northern Ireland may prove to, on paper at least, be less likely though, with teams in their Premiership directly battling teams in the Gibraltar National League for European rankings – indeed Europa’s starting position in the First Qualifying Round of this year’s Champions League comes at the expense of Northern Irish champions Linfield, who take Gib’s old spot in the Preliminary Round this summer. It, therefore, seems less likely that Europa would be as willing to lose one of their star players to a league ranked lower than Gibraltar.
