Gibraltar’s final game of the UEFA Nations League sees them take on Group D leaders FYR Macedonia in the Philip II Arena at 20:45.
The hosts secured their place at the summit of the group last time out when beating Liechtenstein, though with Armenia just three points behind them, they’ll need to win or draw this game to ensure that they finish in top spot – a loss and a Armenia win would mean that Armenia finish top as they have a better head to head.
Macedonia are without captain Goran Pandev through suspension so Aleksandar Trajkovski or Ivan Trichkovski will be expected to lead the line while head coach Igor Angelovski may use tonight as an opportunity to give others player some valuable game time.
After historic back-to-back wins in October, Gibraltar were brought back down to earth with a hammering 6-2 defeat at home to Armenia. Goalscorers Tjay De Barr & Adam Priestley will be hoping to lead the line with Aymen Mouelhi expected to replace the injured Joseph Chipolina and Matt Cafer coming in for the suspended Kyle Goldwin.
Macedonia only need a point to win the group, but there’s no point backing a Macedonia win/draw double chance at 1/100 – the hosts are understandably 1/14 favourites to win at home and secure their promotion to League C.
Any sort of result would be massive for Gibraltar, and a win is 40/1 while a draw is 13/1. Tjay De Barr and Adam Priestley both got on the scoresheet on Friday night, and are 9/1 and 7/1 respectively to score in 90 minutes tonight as well – with Goran Pandev suspended, Ilija Nestorovski is expected to lead the line up front with Ivan Trickovski – the pair are 31/40 and 5/4 respectively to score tonight.
Predicted lineup: Cafer; Sergeant, R.Chipolina, Mouelhi, Olivero; Bardon, Anthony Hernandez, Walker; De Barr, L.Casciaro, Priestley
