Tjay De Barr finds form as Greens march on

Tjay De Barr played a starring role as Europa came from behind to win 3-1 against Gibraltar United and move top of the Premier Division table.

De Barr, who also scored in midweek, won the penalty for Liam Walker to equalise, then scored himself from close range to make it 3-1 after being set up nicely by Ethan Jolley – his second goal for the club since joining in the summer.

Six minutes after Walker’s equaliser, Europa took the lead through Alex Quillo who found himself unmarked in the box and slotted the ball past Goldwin. Gibraltar United struggled to make any chances after German Cortes Narvaez’s opener in the third minute and rarely looked like threatening Javi Munoz.

The victory sees Europa move top by three points, albeit having played a game more than both Gib United and Lincoln, while this defeat is Gibraltar United’s first of the season.
