Gibraltar travel to the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan to take on Armenia at 18:00.
The hosts Armenia got off to a perfect start with a 2-1 home win over Liechtenstein despite their captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan missing a penalty. However, Armen Gyulbudaghyants’ men failed to continue that run and now host Gibraltar for their Matchday 3 UEFA Nations League clash looking for a return to winning ways after a 2-0 loss in Macedonia.
Armenia have been a tough side to beat at home; winning one, drawing three and losing one from their last five games but have struggled in the final third, only finding the net three times.
Two straight defeats for Gibraltar sees them sit bottom of the Group D but performances have been improving. After struggling against Macedonia which saw them with only 31% possession and not a single shot on goal while their next game against Liechtenstein, they had 53% possession and registered 14 shots with 3 on target.
After naming an unchanged side for the last two games, Julio Ribas will be forced to make two as Anthony Hernandez is injured and Tjay De Barr suspended.
Predicted lineup: Chino; Sergeant, Barnett, J.Chipolina, Olivero; Bardon, Pishu, Walker Pons; Cabera, L.Casciaro
Armenia are understandably big favourites at 1/12 to win, while Gibraltar are 28/1 to cause an upset in Yerevan. However, there is potentially value in the goalscoring betting, where Arsenal’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is 4/6 to score in the match. As for Gibraltar, the bookies make George Cabrera and Reece Styche 6/1 each to score anytime, while at 13/2 and 9/1 respectively, Lee Casciaro and Liam Walker are potential shouts to add to their goal tallies for the national team.
