With the final Europa League spot decided tonight at the Victoria Stadium, we take a look at the permutations for both Gibraltar United and St Joseph’s, who are both trying to finish third place.

For St Joseph’s, who play first, it is simple – they must beat Lincoln. Any other result means they can not finish third, and Gib United would be left celebrating before they even kick a ball. St Joseph’s did beat Lincoln last time they faced each other, and a repeat of April’s 4-2 win would set them up nicely.
Should St Joseph’s win, then Gibraltar United must also beat Europa in the evening game. A draw would bring them level on points with St Joseph’s, if they win earlier, but they will have a worse goal difference and as such will finish fourth. Like St Joseph’s though, they beat their opponents tonight in their last meeting, a 2-0 win in April.
The battle for Europe comes down to one evening at the Stadium; will St Joseph’s make it back-to-back seasons in the Europa League or will Gib United qualify for the first time to European competition and crown off a great season since their investment on and off the pitch?
