Ahead of Friday’s play-off against Premier Division side Lynx – we spoke to Olympique striker Max Bothen to get his thoughts on the game.
We asked how the team feels going into Friday seeing as they haven’t played a competitive game since Sunday 20th May – Bothen replied, “The team is feeling up for it to be honest. We have had a few weeks break since the last league game now so the boys are getting excited for Friday’s game.”
Olympique were our favourites to win the league but a loss to Magpies in early April dashed their hopes. Max reflected on their season, “We have definitely had our ups and downs and feel that we should have probably won the league if there wasn’t for a few results not going our way. That’s in the past now and all we can do is give it our best in the play off.”
Max finished the season with 14 goals, joint second goalscorer with his team-mate Robert Montovio. He reviewed his season, “I am pretty happy considering i was injured for a couple of months before xmas so didn’t get much game time.”
Lastly, Bothen rated his side’s chances before the game – “Yes, I really do. I believe whoever wants it the most will edge it. Stranger things has happened in football thats for sure.”
