We caught up with Manchester 62 striker Kelvin Morgan, better known to his team-mates as Rooney, gave us his thoughts on the season so far.
After not featuring much for his former side Europa, Morgan has played regularly for Man62 following the departure of James Adams in January. We asked how he’s found the level of the Premier Division so far, “The start it was a little bit difficult as I had a knee operation over the summer preseason but as the season has developed I’ve been able to get match fit again and fight for a spot in the starting lineup.”
The Red Devils look favourites for relegation but recent promising performances have shown great fight between Morgan’s team-mates, we asked if his side have enough to stay up this season, “Yes, i know that my teammates are better then what we have shown. I feel that over the last couple of weeks, we have been improving as a team and we can get some vital points from here to the end of the season.”
In the Gibraltar press conference last Thursday, both National Team managers Aaron Asquez & Desi Curry spoke highly of Kelvin; we asked how it felt, “It’s always good to hear positive stuff from the National Team managers, it is a boost to me personally to know that I am being watched.”
Lastly, at still a young age and playing Premier – there’s still a lot of time for Kelvin to develop. Regarding his future ambitions – Kelvin replied, “I only want to focus on this season; help the team out with goals, assists and hard work – week in week out and make sure we get out of the relegation zone.”
