Opening day fixtures announced

After a long and busy summer, the opening day fixtures for the Premier & Second Division have been announced. 

The Pepe Reyes Cup gets us underway on the 24th of September with Lincoln taking on the holders Europa, should be a lively affair as always. The Premier Division kicks off two days later with Manchester 62 facing off against Raul Procopio’s St Josephs, on Wednesday it is a new-look Gibraltar United taking on Allen Bula’s Lynx followed by Mons Calpe taking on new-boys Gib Phoenix on Thursday.

The biggest game of the round takes place on Saturday as Lincoln will be hoping to start the new season on a positive note against Mariano Marcos Garcia’s Glacis United while on Sunday, reigning Champions Europa take on Lions in a repeat of last season’s opener. 

There’s no better way to start off the Second Division than Brunos Magpies against Europa Point, a fixture which has been great to watch. two teams which have been busy over the summer face off against each other the next day on Thursday between Leo & Boca Juniors.

On Thursday it is Cannons taking on Hound Dogs while Lewis Fraser’s new-look Olympique take on College 1975 on Sunday. Just like last season the Second Division will have nine teams which has meant that Angels have been given a bye.
