Ahead of Gibraltar’s first ever UEFA U21 qualifier, we caught up with Lions midfielder Graeme Torrilla as he gives his thoughts on tomorrow’s game.
Graeme Torrilla on making the final 20 man squad for Gibraltar’s game against Austria tomorrow, “It is an honour to be representing Gibraltar at any age group especially at Under 21 as the level of football is a lot higher and most players are already playing for big clubs around Europe.”
We asked Torrilla how the team feels going into Gibraltar’s first ever UEFA U21 qualifier, “We are excited but at the same time feeling nervous as this is our first game at this level.”
Gibraltar were pitted in Group 7 with Serbia, Austria, Russia, FYR Macedonia and Armenia. We asked Torrilla how he thinks Gibraltar will fare in the tournament, “We know we are the underdogs coming into tomorrow night’s game but we will give it our all and fight til the end. As for our position in the group, we know it is going to be tough but working together as a team we can achieve our goals and make all the hard work put in by the players and coaching staff worth while.”
Everyone at FG wishes Graeme and the team the best of luck tomorrow.
