Ahead of tomorrow’s Gibtelecom Rock Cup final against Lincoln Red Imps, we caught up with Europa’s hard-tackling midfielder Ivan Moya as he gives his thoughts on the game.
Europa’s triumph in the league means they will be playing Champions League football next season. We asked how it feels knowing they will be playing in the biggest European competition in the world, “The truth is I am quite excited and it is an opportunity that we live for every year. It is a nice way to showcase your club at a European level and the players enjoy playing in new stadiums.”
With the final of the Gibtelecom Rock Cup fast approaching, Moya gave us an insight into how the players are feeling. “Regarding the Cup final, we have a very ambitious and competitive dressing room where we push each other to win. We have a great opportunity to make more history for Europa and we’re going all out for it, we want it.”
Are Europa favourites tomorrow following their league triumph? Moya answered, “For me, no one is favourite tomorrow. It is a big game which all twenty-two players are going into very motivated. We have had several clashes, all with different outcomes and I think we owe our fans a good match against our rival. We have the chance of doing the treble this year and dethroning the team that has won everything for years.”
