Guillermo Roldan strikes late in comeback win

Guillermo Roldan struck a late winner as Europa came from behind to beat St Joseph’s 2-1 in an exciting Premier Division clash.

Salvador ‘Boro’ Delgado fired Saints in front after 48 minutes with a measured side-footed finish past Javi Munoz after some neat build-up play by the Saints midfield.

But the Greens kept pushing forward and equalised in the 82nd minute when Mustapha Yahaya dispossessed Samuel Fernandez and squared the ball to Kike who rolled it into the net from close range. Roldan’s winner came when he got on the end of a Liam Walker corner and headed the ball past Saints goalkeeper Jose Felix Garcia

Saints began the game brightly and Borja Gomez Torres got in behind the Europa defence and fired a shot which Javi Munoz saved. Neither team had any real chances after that with both defences cancelling each other out. After Saints taking the lead early in the second half, Europa brought on attacking players Antonio Garcia & Joselinho as they searched for an equaliser.

Saints were content to defend their lead and paid the penalty when Europa scored two goals in the final ten minutes to seal an important three points.
