Alex Quillo scores four in Europa rout

Alex Quillo scored four goals as Europa kept up the pressure on leaders Lincoln with an emphatic 13-1 victory over Europa Point.

It took the Greens just nine minutes to break the deadlock at the Victoria Stadium, with Kike getting on the end of a Alex Quillo corner to head the ball past Hankins from close range. Their lead lasted only three minutes as Europa Point equalised, Nicolas Melagini played Adrian Golpe through on goal, the Lincoln loanee showed great composure to slot the ball past Camara.

Two minutes later and Europa regained the lead, a mix-up in communication between Jaylan Hankins & Ethan Britto saw the ball fall to Guillermo Roldan who rolled the ball into an empty net. After some great saves from Hankins, Europa made it 3-1 in the 36th minute, Kike’s cutback found Liam Walker who rifled the ball past the helpless keeper from twelve yards out.

Roldan got his second of the game just six minutes later as Europa Point failed to deal with another set piece, Walker’s corner found the former Melilla striker who headed the ball past Hankins. A few minutes later Kike got his second also and Europa’s fifth, a clever pass from Quillo sent the 22-year old through on goal and slotted the ball past Hankins.

On the hour mark half-time substitute Sykes Garro made it 6-1 for Europa, the former Lions midfielder got on the end of a Liam Walker cross to volley the ball in from close range. Garro was involved in Europa’s seventh, his pass played Walker through on goal who fantastically dinked the ball over the on-rushing keeper,

Walker completed his hat-trick just three minutes later as Ibrahim Ayew’s low cross found the Gibraltarian International at the back post who tapped the ball in from close. Alex Quillo got onto the score-sheet less than a minute later, he latched onto a through ball from Antonio Garcia to slot the ball past Hankins to give Europa a 9-1 lead.

Youngster Josema Gallego played Quillo through on goal who chipped the ball over Hankins to get his second and Europa’s tenth. Quillo completed his hat-trick in style as he curled his free-kick over the wall and into the top corner from about twenty yards out. Europa made it 12-1 in the 86th minute, Walker’s free-kick was saved by Hankins and the rebound was followed in by Alex Quillo, his fourth of the game.

Just before the final whistle it was left for Ayew to end his long wait for a goal with his sides thirtieth, converting Ivan Moya misfired shot in injury time. Europa stay level on points with Lincoln, cutting the goal difference from sixteen to four goals with seven games remaining.
