Europa started in red-hot fashion and nearly took the lead in the first ten minutes but Liam Walker fired his effort over from just inside the box after a swift counter-attacking move. St Joseph’s came into the game without defenders Steven Montes & Jaime Contreras and in the 20th minute their top goalscorer Jose Luis Reyes came off injured and was replaced by Juan Carlos Villalba.

Just as St Joseph’s started to control the game, Europa took the lead in the 31st minute. Liam Walker’s cross found Kike who controlled the ball and curled it into the bottom corner. Three minutes later and Europa double their lead, Kike latched onto a through ball from Roldan and slotted it past Garcia.

Yaro Borg blew for half-time with Europa leading 2-0. The afternoon got a little easier for Europa as Guillermo Roldan made it 3-0 for Europa in the 30th minute, the Spainard was put through on goal from a Liam Walker pass and fired the ball past Garcia.

St Joseph’s hit back six minutes later as John Paul Duarte got on the end of a Borja Gomez Torres cross to smash the ball in from close range. Hopes of a Saints comeback were boosted when Alejandro Rivas was sent off for a second bookable offence but in the 89th minute Europa put the game to bed as Kike capitalised on a defensive error, rounded Garcia and rolled the ball into an empty net.

Shortly after the referee blew the final whistle and Europa ran out winners in what was an entertaining game. Saints stay third while Europa move top for the time being.
