Europa went top of the Premier Division after thrashing Manchester62 8-0.
Nine minutes into the first half and Europa broke the deadlock, Joselinho skipped past two players and laid the ball off for Guillermo Roldan to fire past Mateo. Four minutes later Europa doubled their lead, Alejandro Rivas delivered a corner which found Roldan at the back post who headed past Mateo.
34 minutes in and Manchester 62 had their first chance, Jorge Junco skipped past two players and fired a shot towards goal which Javi Munoz excellently saved. Five minutes later Europa made it 3-0, Rivas curled his free-kick over the wall and into the bottom corner.
Europa went into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead. Joselinho made it 4-0 for Europa in the 56th minute, the winger dribbled past three players effortlessly and dinked the ball over the on-rushing Mateo. Less than a minute later it was 5-0, Sean Gilbert whipped in a cross which found youngster Yeray Romero who curled his effort into the bottom corner.
Just after the hour mark, Joselinho got his second and Europa’s sixth as he fired a shot into the bottom corner from close. Shortly after Javi Munoz was called into action as he produced a double save to keep out Aaron Duran’s efforts on goal. Europa were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute, Alejandro Rivas stepped up and slotted his effort into the bottom corner.
Ten minutes to go and Manchester 62 nearly pulled back a consolation goal but Javi Munoz produced a stunning save to keep out Aaron Payas’ free-kick which was heading for the top corner. Minutes later Europa made it 8-0, Sean Gilbert latched onto a through ball and slotted it past Mateo.
Europa saw out the last few minutes and secured an easy win which puts them in good confidence for next week’s big clash with Lincoln Red Imps.
