Liam Walker scored twice as Europa powered to the top of the Premier Division with an emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Lions this evening.
Less than five minutes in and Europa had a chance to take the lead, Alex Quillo whipped in a cross which found Kike who headed his effort over from close. Few minutes later Kike was in the thick of things again as he earned his team a free-kick in dangerous position, Quillo stepped up and curled his effort wide.
Europa continued to dominate but some poor finishing and a few good saves from Louie Barnfather kept the score to 0-0. In the 41st minute the deadlock was broken, Europa were awarded a free-kick and Liam Walker stepped up and curled his effort over the wall and into the back of the net.
Shortly after the referee Tim Reoch blew for half-time with Liam Walker’s free-kick marking the difference at the break.
Second half got underway with Europa on the attack, Quillo close range header was saved by Barnfather and the rebound dropped to Joselinho whose shot was cleared off the line by Kailan Perez. Europa made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute, substitute Joselinho dispossessed Perez, raced through on goal and slotted the ball past the on-rushing Barnfather.
Two minutes later Europa were awarded a penalty as Kike was fouled by Shea Breakpear, Liam Walker stepped up and coolly slotted his effort into the bottom corner. 83rd minute and Europa made it 4-0 as Guillermo Roldan drilled his shot into the bottom corner from inside the box.
Four minutes later it was 5-0, Kike latched onto a through ball from Walker and fired past Barnfather. Two minutes later and Kike got his brace and Europa’s sixth of the night as he beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper and rolled the ball into an empty net. Just before the final whistle Europa made it 7-0, Roldan ran through on goal and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Referee blew the final whistle and Europa ran out comfortable winners. This win sees Europa move one point clear of Lincoln at the top while Lions remain ninth.
