Liam Walker set up one and scored another as Europa moved to the top of the Premier Division with a 2-0 win over Glacis United.
Europa started the stronger side and nearly broke the deadlock within the first minutes, Jesus Toscano skipped past two players and fired a shot towards goal which went just wide. Thirty minutes in Europa had another chance, Kike laid the ball off to Joselinho who curled his effort past Borja Gonzalez but struck the post.
Eight minutes later Europa were awarded a penalty as Guillermo Roldan was fouled in the box. Liam Walker stepped up and fired his penalty into the bottom corner to give his side the lead. Europa nearly doubled their lead just before half-time but Kike struck his shot wide from close. Minutes later referee Yaro Borg blew for half-time with Europa leading 1-0.
Second half got underway with Glacis appealing for a penalty after the ball struck Jesus Toscano on the arm, referee played on. In the 65th minute Europa made it 2-0, Kike latched onto a through ball from Liam Walker and slotted it past the onrushing Gonzalez.
Glacis came battling back, Julio Bado delivered a corner which found Francisco Cano who rose above his marker and headed just wide. Just before the final whistle Glacis nearly pulled a goal back but Andrew Rodriguez fired his long range effort just over the bar. Europa saw out the final few minutes and secured a hard fought 2-0 win.
This win sees Europa rise into first and keep the gap between themselves and Lincoln to one point while Glacis sit fifth.
