A long range free kick from Liam Walker against his former club Lincoln ensured Europa go top of the league with a 1-0 win.

Lincoln, who set up defensively after being on the receiving end of a defeat when the two teams met in the Pepe Reyes Cup, failed to break down their opponents and failed to score, both of which aren’t what you associate with the champions.
Europa striker Kike picked up an early booking for last season’s runners up, while last weekend’s hattrick hero Anthony Bardon had a shot cleared off the line by Jesus Toscano in a first half where neither team found a breakthrough despite their best efforts.
Roldan had Europa’s best chance of the first half, but his header from Joselinho’s cross was saved by the experienced Raul Navas in Lincoln’s goal. The Greens bought on Mustapha Yahaya at half time to try and take control of the fixture but it was Lincoln who started better in the second half, and perhaps looked better placed to score.
As seems to be the case so often though, it was Walker who stole the headlines by beating Navas from distance and securing a big three points.
Lincoln will look to bounce back on Friday against Europa Point, while Europa have a difficult match against fellow unbeaten side Mons Calpe in what will be a battle between the current top two after four games.
