Sykes: “We are a team with a point to prove”

Following Europa Point’s 2-1 win over Manchester 62 this afternoon, we caught up with goalkeeper Will Sykes as he reflected on his sides first victory of the season.

An 86th minute strike from Uday Arora secured Europa Point a 2-1 win over Manchester 62, Sykes gave us his thoughts on the game, “Overall I would say we played well as a team, had some good passages of play and were able to capitalise on an error made by the other team. Felt great to get our first three points and looking forward to what’s to come.”

Next few weeks sees Europa Point play some big teams, we asked how important today’s victory was as they go into a tough run of fixtures. “Very important, not only to develop as a team but to gain overall confidence going into future matches.

Before the start of the season Europa Point were favourites to be relegated but after a few good performances in recent weeks, Sykes was confident his side will avoid relegation. “Absolutely, we are a team with a point to prove and high aspirations.”
