Gibraltar will host Sweden & Montenegro in the preliminary round of the UEFA Futsal Euro.
The games will be played between 23 January–1 February 2017 and if Gibraltar manage to progress they will end up in Group 3 and play against Ukraine (who will host the group), Croatia & Belgium.
Based on decisions taken by the UEFA Emergency Panel, Azerbaijan cannot play Armenia, Spain cannot play Gibraltar, and Kosovo cannot play either Serbia or Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore if Armenia, Gibraltar and/or Kosovo win their preliminary round group and qualify for a main round group with a team they cannot play against, they will be swapped with the next available team in position 4 following the alphabetical order of the groups.
The seven main round group winners will progress to join Slovenia in the final tournament. Theseven runners-up plus the best third-placed side will enter the play-offs on 10–13 & 24–27 September 2017. The winners of the four two-legged ties will complete the 12-team line-up for the finals.
