Mons Calpe followed up their three match win streak with a frustrating 0-0 draw against Glacis United.
Less than five minutes in and Mons Calpe nearly took the lead, Andre Dos Santos whipped in a cross which found Juan Pablo Pereira who rose above his marker and headed the ball onto the post. Mons Calpe continued to pressure, Pereira fired a free-kick just wide of the Glacis goal.
Just before half-time Glacis had a glorious chance to equalise, a cross was whipped in which found Juan Manuel Llaves whose shot was excellently saved by Christian Fraiz. Shortly after referee Jason Barcelo blew for half-time with the score at 0-0.
Second half got underway with Mons on the attack, Borja Gonzalez produced a fantastic save to keep out Manuel Camacho’s free-kick. Glacis got stronger as the game went on, Julio Bado delivered a free-kick which found Adrian Vera whose header hit the crossbar. Minutes later Fraiz was called into action, making a great save to keep out Llaves’ effort on goal.
70 minutes in and Mons Calpe were reduced to 10 men as midfielder Tyson Ruiz was sent off for a second bookable offence. Ten minutes later Glacis had an appeal for a penalty turned down, the management reacted furiously to the decision which saw one of them sent to the changing room.
Glacis saw out the few remaining minutes and walked away with a well deserved point.
