Lynx vs St Joseph’s Preview

This season’s top two come face-to-face in the “Final Four” playoff final as Lynx and St Joseph’s Spark Energy battle it out to be crowned champions of the Gibraltar Futsal 1st Division.

With a spot in the UEFA Futsal Cup also at stake, both teams will put on a show of high quality futsal at the Tercentenary Sports Hall at 7pm tonight.

Lynx got to this stage by finishing top of the league with 53 points from 20 games, before beating Gib Scorpions 19-8 on aggregate in the semi finals.  Their opponents finished six points behind them in the league but knocked out third placed Glacis 11-6 in their semi-final.

Lynx go into the game as favourites and after hosting their UEFA Futsal Cup qualifying round last year in Gibraltar, they’ll look to be the first domestic side to enter back-to-back tournaments. The two meetings between the sides in the league this season saw Lynx win 4-0 in the first round of fixtures, before a 3-3 draw most recently.
