Glacis in seventh heaven

Glacis hit Brunos Magpies for seven tonight in a convincing Rock Cup victory.

A hat-trick from Juan Pablo Sastrie, alongside a brace from German Cortes and goals from Jesus Arillo, Miguel Tirado ensured the Clarets became the final team to reach the last eight of the Rock Cup.

Magpies went in to the game looking to cause an upset over their more illustrious opponents, and kept the game even until the 23rd minute when Sastrie skipped past Fernando Diaz in the Magpies goal to put his side 1-0 up.

Brunos resistance soon crumbled: Sastrie made it 2-0 minutes later, before turning provider for Cortes. The fourth came just before half time, as Sastrie finished off a Funes through ball to complete a first half hat-trick, and kill the game off.

The second half went on in much the same fashion, with Glacis looking for goals. Arillo made it five when his long range effort beat Diaz, before Tirado became the latest to get on the score-sheet. The final goal was a lovely chip from Cortes, his second of the game, and in truth the result did not flatter Glacis.

Glacis will look to take confidence from that game as they prepare for a massive league fixture vs Angels, while Brunos will no doubt hope to put tonight’s disappointment behind them when they play an in form Boca side on Sunday.
