A brace from Joselinho and a goal from Guillermo Rodan secures Europa a comfortable 3-0 victory over Angels.
Europa got off to a fantastic start by opening the scoring in the first minute, Joselinho skipped past his marker and slotted his shot past Juan Mateo Perez. Europa continued to dominate and thirteen minutes doubled their lead, Joselinho’s shot took a deflection off Jonathan Rojas and rolled past a helpless Mateo.
Four minutes later Europa nearly made it 3-0 but Javi Martinez’s shot was cleared off the line. Midway through the half Europa were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position, Javi Martinez stepped up and brought out a wonderful save from Juan Mateo Perez. Just before half-time Europa had another chance to extend their lead, Jesus ‘Chuchy’ Negrillo’s superb run saw his effort beat Mateo and cleared off the line by Rojas. Europa went into the break comfortably leading 2-0.
The second half started with Europa dominating the game and were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute, Guillermo Rodan stepped up and slots his penalty into the bottom corner, sending Mateo the wrong way. Adrian Pavon nearly got his name on the scoresheet but his long range effort went just past the post.
With fifteen minutes remaining Europa had another shot cleared off the line, this time from Kirill Trofimenko after some great build-up play from Jesus Negrillo and Javi Martinez. Trofimenko continued to cause Angels problems, his close range shot was excellently saved by Mateo. Just before full-time, debutant Alejandro Rodriguez had a glorious chance to make it 4-0 but he smashed his shot over the bar from just eight yards outs.
Europa were able to hold on and walk away with the three points which sees them cut the gap at the top to just three points, Angels remain bottom of the table.
