Europa consigned 10-man Manchester 62 to their third defeat in a row after beating them 4-0 at the Victoria Stadium tonight.
Goals from Pedro Carrion, Joselinho, Guille Mendez and Jose Yared saw Europa keep up their unbeaten start to the season, as Manchester continued their disappointing start to the season.
Carrion’s header, and Joselinho’s finish had already put Europa 2-0 up before Manchester went down to 10 men, as Chuky received his marching orders for a second bookable offence. An already difficult task became near impossible for Manchester, who look in need of a win just to arrest this recent downturn in form.
Europa added to their lead in the season half, as a penalty given away by former Belgian international Carl Hoekfens was finished by Mendez. The final goal of the game could be considered either incredibly skilful or lucky, as Yared bent his corner straight into the goal.
The win temporarily moved Europa to the top of the league, but after Lincoln beat Angels 5-0 in the evening game, they remain second on goal difference to last season’s leaders. Manchester are now seventh in the league, albeit seven points clear of Angels and Glacis.
