Angels secured their first win of the season, beating Glacis Utd 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Salvador Delgado.
Glacis Utd dominated the early stages and had the first chance of the game, Juan Ruesca’s shot went just wide. Despite the early pressure it was Angels who broke the deadlock, Juan Villada found Salvador Delgado who slotted his shot past Jose Rico Perez. Six minutes later Angels nearly doubled their lead but Alberto Morente’s free-kick hit the post.
Just before half-time Angels had an opportunity to equalise but Leo Pereyra’s header was comfortably saved by Juan Antonio Mateo Perez. Angels were able to hold on and go into half-time leading 1-0.
The second half started with Glacis dominating but unable to break down a well organised Angels defence with Juan Villada & Jonathan Arroyal dealing with the Glacis attacks with relative ease. Glacis Utd went down to 10 men in the 62nd minute after Jose Maya received a straight red for his last man challenge on Salvador Delgado.
Glacis Utd had a glorious chance to equalise, Juan Ruesca capitalised on a Jonathan Arroyal mistake, his cross found Sergio Mendez who struck his shot wide. Angels doubled their lead on the 76th minute, a corner was delivered and found Salvador Delgado whose header flew past Rico Perez.
Two minutes later Angels had a fantastic chance to extend their lead. Toufik Larouia through ball found Christian Mena, the striker’s shot went inches wide. Angels were able to hold on and walk away with the three points.
This win sees Angels remain ninth while Glacis sit bottom and look favourites to be relegated.
