Bruno’s Magpies prove too strong for spirited College

Bruno’s Magpies registered sixth win of the season as they came from a goal down to beat College1975 4-1.

Magpies started the first half the brightest side and looked likely to score but were lacking the cutting edge infront of goal. Magpies had the ball in the back of the net midway through the half but Sam Whelan’s goal was ruled offside. College came battling back, Soufian Hanafi’s long range shot went just wide.

Just before half-time College took a shock lead, Mohamed El Yettefti plays the ball to Soufian Hanafi, the striker skipped past his marker and smashed his shot past Fernando Diaz. Minutes later the referee blew for half-time with College 1975 leading 1-0.

Whatever Magpies manager Joel Williams told his players at half-time worked, Four minutes after kick-off Magpies equalised, Ahmed Elsahib picked up a loose ball in the box and slotted his shot away. Five minutes later Magpies made it 2-1, Max Bothen latched onto a through ball and lobbed the on-rushing keeper.

Magpies continued to dominate the game and made it 3-1 fourteen minutes later, Arif Hattabi capitalised on a poor back-pass and slotted his shot into the bottom corner. With less than five minutes left Magpies made it 4-1, Dominguez made a great save to keep out a shot, the rebound fell to Kyle Schembri who tapped his shot into an empty net.

Magpies were able to hold on and secure all three points, this win sees them remain fifth and go level on points with Mons Calpe while College 1975 sit bottom of the league.
